800 miles is a drive
This weekend was great. I saw a long time friend from college get married in his home town of Lawrence, KS. I went there with our mutual friend, who also happens to be my closest friend of the last six years. The three of us had lived together in St. Paul for 9 months before he moved back to Lawrence, and we've rarely seen him since. Every time we do it's a gift.
This friend is the most top-notch kind of guy you'd ever hope to meet. Knows how to have a good time and is totally honest with you. A true friend.
Friday we had dinner and met a bunch of his friends and relatives at his parents' house. They're all good people. Went home and crashed early - it had been a long week after getting back from Hawaii the weekend before. The next day was awesome. I left all the clothes I had packed for the wedding behind, so the day of I had to shop like a mad man to get a new outfit. Luckily I had Leah's help. We got it done in record time so that we could enjoy the beautiful spring day in Lawrence. Drove to Mass. St. where the good times are found. Went to a Jordanian restaurant and had hummus, iced tea, Turkish Coffee and sheesha. It was so chill - just what I needed. I've been wanting to try Turkish Coffee since getting to know a guy from Turkey named Volkan. I kept asking him to make it for me, but he's moved back to Turkey now.
(ok, I got 4 hours of sleep last night and I'm about to pass out. I'll finish this entry soon...)
zzzzzzzzzzzz....
Oh, no, where are you tonight?

Ok, I'm back! It's a couple weeks later now, but that's okay. The wedding was awesome. The three of us got to catch up and hang out like back in the day. I hate when friends move away, but I love visting them in their own towns. After the wedding we got invited to hang out with Matt's Lawrence friends. A cool, fun bunch of people, we had a great time till 2:00. Would've been fun to go downstairs, but we had to drive the next day.
And drive we did. Right past Senior Tereeblay's and Deez Mo-eenay's, straight to the Eagan Panera, of all places. Great lemonade. Great weekend. Congratulations Matt & Canan!
